Synopsis:
A story of heart-stopping, toe-curling passion by the beloved bestselling author of Hard to Love, Resisting Her, and The Impact of You.Straight-laced and well-mannered southerner Emmy Clarke is out of her depth in New York City’s fashion world, but when she lands a job as an assistant at a modeling agency it seems like the perfect mix of business and pleasure. Working under the notoriously tyrannical Fiona Stone is a nightmare, but there’s one distinct perk: ogling the ridiculously hot male models who parade through the office—particularly rising star Ben Shaw.
Ben is everything Emmy’s not: exquisitely gorgeous, highly paid, and well-traveled. He’s also got more issues than Vogue. Emmy looks after Ben on photo shoots, but she refuses to become another one of his lusting groupies. Ben finds Emmy’s refreshingly real attitude to be surprisingly attractive.
Against a backdrop of the most fashionable cities in the world, casual flirting turns into an illicit affair, but when Ben’s twisted past is revealed, and the bitter Fiona catches wind of their relationship, their careers and hearts are threatened.
Darra's Review:
Emmy has to have one of the best job's(besides her bitch of a boss). You get to look at Models all day. One day she meets Ben. And he is one of the hottest models currently. She can't deny that she is hot for him. But who wouldn't be? Dark hair and blue eyes. Just my type! But what she is surprised with is he is interested in her.Ben is so different from Emmy. That maybe one of the reasons why he likes her. Plus she is no groupie just wanting a night with Ben. Or for his money. Emmy is so sweet and means well. I think it is her Southern Belle personality that makes Ben interested.
So as every girls dream, she gets with him. Now Fiona is a mondo bitch and Emmy is scared that she will lose her job if they get caught but she can't help herself. But once she started up with Ben, she could not help herself.
This story is not just the usual get hot guy, fall in love and live happily ever after with their 2.5 kids. There are moments that I said out loud OH MY GOD! Try explaining to my husband why I said that was difficult. You will know what I am talking about when you get to that part of the book.
There is no doubt that Ben lives a life that leaves hardly anytime to have a relationship. And what happens at the end! I wanted to shoot someone. Wench. All I kept thinking is WTH! I need some closure. It does not end how I thought it would(still left me with a grin). But I loved the book. It is not the usual read, it is much better. Obviously since I am writing an essay here.
I rate the book a 4.4. How can you turn down one of Kendall Ryan's book! Another great one!.
Sunny's Review:
So you know how much we love Kendall Ryan and I have yet to be disappointed in a book by her. She is one of those authors that I will buy the book just b/c she wrote. I won't read the synopsis...I don't care b/c I know it will AWESOME!!So Ben...how can you go wrong with a super hot male model that is straight! I really like him. I like that he isn't just the pretty face with a jerk attitude. He seems to actually care about the people in his life...Fiona (even though I don't think he should), Emmy and his friends.
Emmy is your typical small town girl thrown in the big city. She tries to make the best of her work situation with Fiona hating her and now she has Ben interested in her. She is a sweet girl and it is funny watching her trying to flirt and sext with Ben. I like that when her world gets wrecked she does not just go running to Ben and listening to whatever he has to say. She uses her backbone even it is just strong enough to get her back home to lick her wounds in private.
Go get this book. Kendall Ryan is hilarious and she honestly made my jaw drop to the ground in this book. She does a great job of pushing the limits. I am giving this book 4.4 stars out of 5. I am also going to recommend you following Kendall on FB and Twitter. She is hilarious and there are plenty of times that her posts make me literally LOL.
