Review for The Vampire King Trilogy

As you saw we have read the latest installment of The Vampire Trilogy. Actually, I read all Three. The story starts with Brie becoming a domina after leaving her city as a sacrifice to prevent the two other girls from becoming one. She must leave the Quiet King and reunite with her husband and two children. The only person that can get her out is Samuel. A complex, super sexy vampire. Samuel can't get enough of Brie. He must have her. That is all I can say about Escape, book #1

In captured that came out in February starts again with Brie finding she has been replaced by her husband and two daughters. She decides to leave with Samuel. They must go back to the City to free all the other slaves and take down the King. The second books brings in more characters. Must importantly, Ian. You will come to love Samuel, despite his controlling but loving personality. Brie is his! I liked the second one because their is more action and brings more characters out. Most importantly Ian. You will freak at the end of this book. Total cliff hanger!

And installment #3, Freed. Wow. I think that my eyes bugged out and mouth dropped out. This is by far the best one out of the three. You can't help but feel for Samuel and Brie. The have gotten so far and the Queen takes her down. Samuel is changing into a king. Quite interesting how his body changes overnight. And it is because the need to protect Brie. Many more things happen that I can't tell you. But please know that this is ADULTS ONLY. This book took it to another level I have never been to. It will be burned into my memory forever. Half way into the book, you will find out why. This just came out, read it.

I recommend this Series, especially Freed. It really left me shocked and speechless. You have to read it and let me know what you think. I am going to say again WOW!

I give the book a 4.3. The overall series a 4.2.

Check it out once it comes out later.

After witnessing the slaughter of babies, she plans to escape and seeks help from Samuel, a vampire known for aiding many out of slavery.

However, Samuel has only one policy. He won’t help dominas escape the king. The penalty is too high and their blood triggers powers in him that he doesn’t want released. Twisted Perfection! DANG YOU ABBI GLINES!

Damn You ABBI GLINES!!!!! I LOVED IT!

If you saw my post yesterday on the other page you know that I was not going to buy this book this week. I was holding off to decide if I really wanted to read it. Obviously, I wanted to b/c I started it last night around 9 and finished this morning at 2. I AM SOOOOOO TIRED TODAY--BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT!

If you have read Fallen Too Far and Never Too Far by Abbi Glines you know who Woods is. I loved him those books and was kinda excited he was getting his own book...but at the same time I was nervous b/c I personally don't like books based on others characters. I am always scared the character does not have enough (I can't find the correct word here) to make their own book. I should not have doubted Abbi Glines...Woods was the perfect amount of douche and AWWWWW. I really like Della too.

Basically, we all know that Woods is working his way up his family business. He is trying to move from management in the country club to VP. If you paid attention during Blaire's story you saw that Woods did work and was not the pampered little rich boy that had everything handed to him on silver platter. His father will not promote him unless he shows his "dedication" to the family business by marrying to improve the family name and assets. He is supposed to propose to the long time family friend, Angelina. He doesn't want to but sees no other way to get the position he has worked his whole life for. Angelina is going to be the perfect trophy wife-blond, rich, well-bred and the Greystone name, but Woods really doesn't like her.

Della meets Woods when she is passing through Rosemary on her way to "find herself."  She has never been alone or traveled and her best friend thinks this is a perfect time for her self discovery. Unfortunately (or fortunately-depends on how you look at it), she doesn't even know how to pump her own gas. Woods sees her and helps her. He also realizes that she would be the perfect one-night stand to get in before he really tries to make a go of it with Angelina. What Woods doesn't know is that Della is a lot more innocent than he realizes (no she does not have her V Card!-Thank you Abbi!). So after an amazing night together Della moves on. After several months, a friend tries to help her out and sends her to his hometown and calls in a favor from friend to give Della a job while she continues to find her place in the world.  Needless to say, unknown to Della or Woods they are going to be thrown back together...

Ok...I love Della. She is a tough girl that had a rough life. She doesn't complain and doesn't really want anyone to know what is in her past. She is a hard worker and is not looking for a hand out or a free ride. She goes with the flow and takes her punches and keeps on fighting. We know from the past books that Woods is really a sweet guy that will take of his friends. He works hard and doesn't expect to be handed anything either. It is one of the reasons I really like him...he could have been a spoiled jerk but he goes to work everyday and doesn't pass his work off on others. You can tell he actually cares about his family business. They both have their issues and have to work through them. I could not put this book down. I would say it is as good as Fallen Too Far. I am sure that I will reread it after I get through with a couple of other books. I promised myself I was not going to get this book and read it in one night (when I know work is going to be hell) but I did and I am pretty happy that I did...although I wish I was still reading right now...

I would give this book a 4.6 and totally recommend it. Go get it and read it and fall in love...

My Love for Heller

Some books you just have to go and read again. I needed a good laugh, so I read Heller again by J.D. Nixon. I can't deny that is the only reason I read it. It is Heller. He makes his own category. We have the regular guys from books, the book boyfriends that have some super power and than there is Heller. He is suppose to have blond hair and is in his late 20's or early 30's, so this guy is the closest I could get to him.

Epitome of a perfect man! This is where you sigh....
Read Heller and the rest of the series.

Metamorphosis by Erin Noelle

I had not heard anything about this book until I was eavesdropping at the Walking Disaster book signing.  Erin Noelle was there and told Darra and I about her book.  We both had a couple of other books to read but I downloaded it Sunday night and finished yesterday. I LOVE IT! Darra just walked in the office this morning and goes--This would have been us if we had known each other when we were younger!!! I had to laugh b/c I thought the exact same thing.

This book is about Scarlett and her journey to find her perfect book boyfriend. She has been sheltered so much by her parents it is just beyond sad. She was not allowed to have any social life except with one friend that lived across the street, Evie. They both apply and get into Rice University in Houston and she begins her new life. Evie's cousin, Jess, lives in Houston but goes to a different university (yes, we have several down here). Before going to the first party, Evie and Scarlett decide that they are going to find their perfect book boyfriends. They bring up several from books we have all read but the first is going to be the preppy college frat boy. They head off to Jess' house and meet her roommates, Meg and Ash (hot surfer book boyfriend). Scarlett and Ash have an instant connection. As the night goes on, Scarlett meets Dylan (preppy college frat boy)...so now we have 2 boys. Later, Evie and Scarlett decide to go try to find the hot rocker boyfriend. They hit a bar that has several bands playing and Scarlett meets Mason. I don't want to give too much away but Scarlett is trying to discover herself and what she wants out of life as she hangs out with these 3 guys.

There is definite heartbreak and I was seriously looking at Jericho (my Nook for those of you that don't know his name) like WTF?! Did she (Erin Noelle) really just do that???!!!!????  I was not nearly as emotionally devestated as I was reading Ruining Me by Nicole Reed but there were tears.  I don't know what I am going to do until June when Ambrosia comes out!!!! So I don't know why but I have some major issues with Ash...which is weird b/c I was totally Team Chase in Taking Chances and I feel like they are similar so you guessed it....TEAM MASON!!!! Again, this is weird b/c I am not into the whole rocker thing AT ALL.

I read a couple of reviews before reading the book and there was one that just really annoyed me. I mean not everyone in Texas walks around in boots, jeans, cowboy hats and giant belt buckles but (and I do find it kinda unfortunate) most of the college girls are in dresses and cowboy boots and jeans and flip flops. It is the style down here right now. So I did not really understand the complaint on Scarletts wardrobe. I also thought that there was pretty good character development. I mean I was so embarrassed at times at the stuff that Scarlett would say or the things that she would do...I think that says a lot about the book if I was feeling that emotionally connected.

I think I am going to give this book a 4.4 out of 5 stars. I like the whole picking certain types of guys to go out and find in a weekend and making it a game. I would reread this book--even though I hate that one moment (read it so you know what I am talking about)!

Consequences Review #2

Hey, this is Darra. This is review is about the book Consequences. The one that Sunny just gave a overview of it. This book was really good. By far, the must stressful book I have read. I have actually had to wait to read the second book so I can become of sound mind.
Sunny was behind reading this book. I nearly combusted having to wait to talk to her. Read this book. There are twists and turns. Your mouth will drop from page 25 thru the last page. I actually showed up at work in a bad mood. The book effects you that much.

Read it. Suspense, brutality, love, and so much more.

Consequences by Aleatha Romig

OMG!!!! THIS BOOK!!!! READ IT!!!!

Overview from bn.com:

Besieged by memories of a brutal abduction, Claire Nichols wakes in an unfamiliar bedroom, within a luxurious mansion. Her recollections have one common denominator, the man she just met, Anthony Rawlings.
Unbeknownst to Claire, for a very long time, she has been within Anthony’s sights. Many of the pivotal events in her life occurred, due to his sinister manipulation. Every action has a consequence, and his actions result in their chance meeting.
More than a psychological thriller, Consequences is a vivid story of one woman’s struggle to survive incomprehensible circumstances. Every aspect of her being suddenly depends upon the tall, wealthy, dark haired, dark eyed businessman. Anthony Rawlings is known to the world as prosperous, benevolent, and kind. Claire quickly learns that he can also be a menacing controlling captor.
With few options but concession, Claire attempts to earn her freedom, while enduring a hellish existence that truly appears perfect. Persevering tests and trials, she struggles to retain her pure Midwest values and beliefs. Encouraged by memories of a loving upbringing, she gains strength in the simplest of joys: solitude in nature and good in the face of evil.
His goal in sight, Anthony’s calculated agenda encounters an unforeseen detour. He becomes captivated by Claire’s beauty, resilience, and determination. The interaction of these two compelling characters instigates strong emotions: fear, anger, love, and lust. Claire and Anthony’s tumultuous journey flows into uncharted waters of intrigue and passion.
Utilizing vivid detail, this 167,000-word novel unfolds like a movie, before the eyes of its readers. From the opening criminal abduction, through twists and turns, to the unlikely romantic thrills, the suspense climaxes as Anthony’s motivation becomes evident.
Anthony and Claire must decide if they will stay true to one another, or allow preceding actions to result in justifiable Consequences.

SO....I could not put this book down. The messed up part is that it took me FOREVER to read...but it was so emotionally draining. It was a great read and basically from page 1 I was hooked. Some parts were hard to read but OMG is all I can say...READ THIS BOOK! There are 2 more books after this. The next one is called Truth and I will be reading it after Walking Disaster. It was so hard not to buy it at 2 AM when I finished this one but I felt like (for my SANITY) I needed to take a break.

I would give this book a 4.7 out of 5 stars. I would not reread this book just b/c of the stress but I have to rate it very high b/c it is an AWESOME book. There are so many twists and turns that you do not expect. IT IS CRAZY!!! Darra finsihed first and I thought she was going to die waiting on me to finish...I was texting her at 2 AM Friday night as I finished. The last 30-40 pages...WOW!!!!!!!

GO GET IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
