Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid!!!!

Synopsis:

This is a full-length, 110k word novel and is the first book in the Knitting in the City series.
There are three things you need to know about Janie Morris: 1) She is incapable of engaging in a conversation without volunteering TMTI (Too Much Trivial Information), especially when she is unnerved, 2) No one unnerves her more than Quinn Sullivan, and 3) She doesn't know how to knit.
After losing her boyfriend, apartment, and job in the same day, Janie Morris can't help wondering what new torment fate has in store. To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan- aka Sir McHotpants- witnesses it all then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can't afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn- the focus of her slightly, albeit harmless, stalkerish tendencies- to make her an offer she can't refuse.

Darra's Review:

There is so much to say about Janie. I feel like I read Wikipedia myself. I had a few moments I did think “Huh, I didn’t know that.” Obviously Quinn must have liked that too. I thought he was interesting. Quiet, but likeable. Plus who doesn’t like Thor! They are a unlikely couple that makes it interesting.
I read the books out of order but was really glad I got to read Quinn. However I want to know more! So many things missing I need to know. Ugh, mysterious guys!
Loved the book. And I like reading a book where I am not crying into the depths of my sorrows. It is a fun read with awkward people.
I give it a 4.5. Much love to Penny Reid and her Neanderthal!

Sunny's Review:

Seriously can't believe how much I love Penny Reid's books. We met her at a book signing in Houston a few weeks ago and it was like finding out long lost friend. I tell Darra "I would so read those books just because of the titles" and so we walk over to tell her that we have never heard of her. She says that is fine I am a little different. I have a different sense of humor and I make up words. Darra and I looked at each other said SOLD!! So I was a little bit scared b/c what if I was looking forward to this AWESOMELY HILARIOUS book and it was eh, okay. Well guess what....it was definitely AWESOMELY HILARIOUS!!!! I was cracking up from page one and I can totally identify with Janie's meltdown in the bathroom at work.

Janie might be one of my favorite female characters. She is so funny and awkward, ridiculously smart and not the perfect cookie cutter skinny, tan, super fit girl. I literally have a girl crush on her. She was so funny and I am glad that I read this book. Quinn was great too. I love the whole super hot, quiet intimidating guy. I mean he did not say much but definitely let his presence be known. I like that he when Janie started to get nervous and would spout off random facts he was just like tell me more. I do agree with Darra I want to know more about him but he is definitely on my list!!! I already know that I will read this book many times in the future.

I am giving this book 4.5 out of 5 stars and I will tell you that Penny's books just keep getting better. I can't wait to read Neanderthal Marries Human. Now the picture below was taken at our office and will make more sense after you the first chapter...I FEEL YOUR BATHROOM PAIN JANIE!!!

About the Author

SEX! It all started with sex, between my parents. Personally I don’t like thinking about it, but whatever works for you is a-ok with me. No judgment. The sex happened in California and much of my life also occurred in that state until I moved from the land of nuts (almonds), wine, silicon… boobs, and heavy traffic to the southeast US. Like most writers I like to write, but let’s get back to sex. Eventually I married and gave birth to 2 small people-children (boy-6, girl-4 as of this writing).
