Goodbye Caution by Jacquelyn Ayres!!!

Goodbye Caution
by Jacquelyn Ayres
Hosted by: Bare Naked Words
Becca Campbell is a mother, friend, and widow to a war hero (may he rot in hell). She just wants to raise her daughter right and keep her bed-and-breakfast afloat in this economy. Her traumatic past leaves her with no desire for a relationship—until Grayson James walks through her door. He’s not the type of man you can easily say “no” to. Becca can’t quite understand the pull she feels toward him. But then his controlling nature starts to push her away—and into Ray McNeil’s comforting arms. Which is right where Ray has always wanted her. Who will Becca choose? Will she finally give in to her feelings for Ray, or continue the tumultuous relationship with Grayson? Only one thing is certain—either choice will mean saying goodbye to caution.  Warning: This book contains some disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language and violence. 10% of the proceeds from this book will be donated to YWCAUSA.org to help abused women and children.

Sunny's Review:

If you enjoyed 50 Shades of Grey and love a good triangle then you will love this book. You have Ray and Becca who have been friends for a long time. Ray has been in love with Becca but she never got it. Then you have Grayson. He is super hot and aggressive and every woman's British fantasy. So the guys decide that they should share Becca instead of making her choose right away. As we all know this is never a good idea. So there is some mystery in this book and that is always good.

I think that most people will like this book and I recommend you read it. I am giving this book 4 out of 5 stars. Go get it!!!

I am a Domestic Engineer (born and raised in NJ) whose sole responsibility is to guide three young impressionable kids into becoming phenomenal adults. This challenging, yet rewarding work requires a lot of love (coffee), patience (wine) and determination (periodic exorcisms). I work all of this magic in the beautiful state of New Hampshire. Before becoming a Domestic Goddess (not really), I spent over a decade working in the medical field where I wore more hats than the Queen. I have had a love for the written word and the great escape it provides since I was a little girl. When I wasn't reading about people and the places they lived, I was creating my own characters and adventures. Finally, I have been putting a pen to paper allowing my characters to come to life. When I don't have a pen and paper in hand, you can often find me laughing at the conversations my characters are having in my head.

“Becca, are you listening?” He waves his hand in front of my face.

“Yes, sorry. I was watching a very hypnotic, beautiful British man speak. He is a lovely man.” I lean forward on my arms and look up at him with a smile.

“Oh yeah? Do I detect a crush, Ms. Campbell?” He arches his brow.

“Crushes are for schoolgirls, Mr. James.” I sigh nonchalantly.

“Very well then,—what do you think it is?” He leans on his arms as well.

“I think he’s drugging me, truth be told,” I say, with a secretive edge to my voice.

“No! What gives you that idea?” He sounds shocked, matching my disposition.

“Well, every time he comes around me, I get completely intoxicated by his smell. I can’t think straight and I find myself following all of his commands. Once I’m away from him, my thoughts are clear again. What do you make of that?”

“Ms. Campbell, you’re on to something. He is definitely drugging you!” He taps his index finger on the table for emphasis.

“What do you think it is? What drug is it?” I sit up, alarmed.

“Love!” He points into the air matter-of-factly. “It’s crazy, maddening, intoxicating love! Yes, I’ve heard of this type of love before. Tell me, Ms. Campbell. Does your heart beat fast?”

      “Yes!”

“Do you feel what people call ‘butterflies in your stomach’?”

“Up to my throat in them.”

      “Do your knees get weak?”

      “I’ve passed out!”

      “Is your breathing erratic?”

      “Only around him.”

“Do you find yourself unable to stop your thoughts about him the moment you’re apart?”

      “Yes! It’s quite annoying.”

“I’m afraid this is a very dangerous situation you’ve got yourself in. Believe me—I know!” He widens his eyes and taps the table again.

“Well, how do you know, Mr. James?” I reach for his arm.

“I suffer from the same ill fate.”

“No! Is she British as well?”

“Worse—she’s American! I’ve been behaving strangely ever since I met her.”

“No! Mr. James, what are we to do?” I look down and shake my head.
“I don’t know, Ms. Campbell.” He grabs my hands, caressing the backs of them with his thumbs. “We’ll just have to stick together. Help each other. Eventually a plan of action will present itself.”

Meet Becca, Grayson, Ray & Hazel
Grayson
1.  When you contrived with Ray to share Becca, did you not consider, knowing your nature, that it might be problem?

I don’t know what the bloody hell I was thinking besides the fact that I couldn’t lose her! I mean, I was completely snookered. Everything sounds brilliant when your rat arsed! I just . . .  I really screwed up and I knew I had to do something drastic to attempt to win her back. In all honesty, I didn’t completely factor in the consequences of sharing her with Ray because I didn’t think the arsehole really stood a chance!
2.  You seem to fall for Morgan almost as hard as you fall for Becca, is the 'ready made family' part of the attraction?
I was looking for a nice, long overdue, visit with my aunt and a great weekend skiing with my mates. I was not looking to fall in love and I most certainly was not looking to become a father. I never even considered having children—ever. But, my God, you’ve all met Morgan—how could anyone not fall in love with that girl? She’s a clever, funny little thing and I absolutely adore her! So, no, a ‘ready-made family’ was not part of the attraction but the love I feel for them made me ready for a family!
Becca
1.  Obviously you had reservations about Gray and Ray's plan to share your time, but all that aside, you had permission to enjoy two men! How much fun was that??
            Can they hear me?
No. They are in the other room.
            Security hasn’t been in here?
            No. Why do you ask?
Umm . . . you have met Grayson, right?
Oh. Quite right. No. No one’s been in here but us.
Ok. Let’s just say my Slip n’ Slide never saw a dry moment and thoroughly enjoyed the extensive playtime!
2.  How do you cope with the restrictions 24 hour protection must impose?
Well, it definitely hasn’t been easy—that’s for sure! I’ve had to let go—a lot! I’m very impatient. When I need to do something, I need to do it now! Waiting for my detail sucks sometimes. I’m blessed to have Melissa though! She makes it a bit more normal for me. With the exception of the handful I’ve gotten close to, well, it’s just—awkward! I mean how would you feel if there were people outside of your bedroom door every minute—hearing everything? I couldn’t be quiet with Grayson if I tried! So I had to ‘let go’. Now I just think of it like this, ‘Well, at least I’m keeping them all closer to God!’
3.  Do you feel any guilt that you and Ray could have probably stayed friends if not for the arrangement?
That’s the worst part of this. I was bound to lose one of them. Ray has been my best friend for about five years now. We’ve done everything together. I have to believe in my heart of hearts that eventually, things will mend between us. We love each other very much and on such a different level. I can’t see how anything can wipe that all away. But to answer your question—yes, the guilt is unbearable. I’ve handled this whole situation very poorly.
Ray
1.  Why did you wait until Becca was happy with another man before deciding to declare your feelings?

Oh, let me guess who you got that information from! That prick is unbelievable!

Well, we’re only going by what we’ve been told in general. There’s not much evidence to tell us anything different.

There are two sides to every story.

Tell us yours then.

Soon.

Why so secretive?

We’ve all got our secrets, lady.

(Ladies, I believe Ray just dished out one of his wink/air kiss combinations at me. I may need to change my knickers!)
To answer your question though, I didn’t wait for another man to show up. I’ve always told Becca how I feel . . . in my own way. I love Becca with all my heart but she is one oblivious woman!
2.  How do you manage the fact that you actually like Grayson, even though you hate him for having Becca?
I did like him when I first met him. I tolerate him now—barely. I’ll tell you why I do tolerate him, though. That dude is a loose cannon! When Becca has finally had enough of his bullshit and realizes he’s not the man for her, I’ll be waiting—with open arms. Just you wait and see!
People might say the same thing about you, Ray. Call you a loose cannon.
(Ray has just given me, what I believe Becca calls, his ‘sit n’ spin’ face and is now leaving. I have to admit—his arse does do wonders for those jeans. I may or may not have just fallen out of my chair from leaning to keep a good watch on that arse!)
Hazel
1.  Did you have hopes from the beginning that Becca and Grayson would fall in love?
Well, I had hopes that they would like each other and maybe want to date. But I was not expecting all of this. Honestly, I think it’s been all too much for Becca—given her history.
2.  When Becca and Grayson argued who did you deep down feel most protective of?
Such a simple question, dear, and yet so complicated. You know I raised Gracie from the time he was fifteen so he’s like the son I never had. Becca, though I’ve only known her for the past several years, is like the daughter I never had. It really depended on the argument. Becca, though she is so strong, is still quite fragile from her past. You know, she didn’t walk away from George on her own accord—he was killed—well, so she thought. So I feel very protective of her when I see Grayson behave so aggressively. My Gracie has never acted that way before. I’ve also never seen him so torn up and broken down by a woman.  To see what she has done to him—my heart leans in his direction. Now that I’m with Charlie, I just try to spend as much time with him and let those two kids try to figure things out for themselves.
3.  Errrrrrr – speaking of Charlie, Hazel—have you found Jesus yet, and if so, how was it? ;-)
Oh, you are just as bad as Becca is, you naughty girl! Can’t you girls think about anything besides sex? (You should know that she is giggling and blushing at the moment)
No. It’s no secret that women are worse than men! Come out with it then! Is Charlie taking you to church, Hazel?
We may have said Hallelujah a few times. (giggling) Oh no! Don’t put that in there! Oh dear, that’s not going to be seen in a national newspaper, is it?
No. No, of course not! (Internationally on the internet but we won’t tell her that!)
Oh good! (sigh of relief) Well, it was so nice to talk to you, dear! Make sure to come and stay  with us at The Morgan Inn—we’d love to have you!
Thank you, Hazel! (I want to steal

Genre: New Adult Post-Apocalyptic Interracial Romance
Publication Date: November 15, 2013

Flesh-eating zombies, dirty sex, and a shattered past…

What’s more dangerous—the man who broke her heart or those trying to eat it?

Fighting to survive, Eve finds herself alone in the world after the Crave—the only parallel of her former life. On the hunt for her sister, she runs into Gage—the first and only boy to have her heart and break it. It’s been four years and he isn’t a boy anymore, nor is he the same person he used to be. Against her better judgment, Eve agrees to stay with him when he divulges information on a safe haven near the small town they grew up in—but that doesn’t mean she has to like it…

Returning home elicits a myriad of emotions that both Eve and Gage thought they had buried. The past and present collide and they are forced to the face bitter deceits that ruined them in the before and threaten to destroy them now…

Darra's Review:

When it comes to zombie books, I am all about it. A little romance, running for your life and taking out zombies. Sounds like a great date! This author tells the story the before and after of when everything went down. Eve had it rough, the before and after. Now I can't say I relate to her, but I can feel her hurt when reading the book. Gut wrenching feeling in your gut and heart.
She has to have all her walls up to take out any Jenk(zombie) she sees. And what happens? She finds her past walk up to her, Gage. What a crazy relationship. Sometimes you don't get on board with the main guy till later inn the book. That is what happened. All I kept thinking was Jerk!
You see a little of Eve's story, Gage's story and Eve's sister, Olive. Enough story there to keep you reading more.

I would rate this book a 4.3. On the reading zombie book list!

Euphoria by Erin Noelle!!!

Blurb

After a series of catastrophic misunderstandings and impulsively poor decision-making, Scarlett MacGregor finds herself once again torn between two loves, as different as they may be. Lacking proper closure with their relationship, accompanied by the overwhelming guilt for her role in his devastating downfall, Scarlett resolves to help Mason recover and reclaim his life as a budding rock star. However, now that he has finally claimed her as his, Ash Walker is bound and determined to keep her by his side, and he will go to any lengths necessary to do just that.

Mason Templeton has hit rock bottom. He’s in love with a girl whose heart and soul belong to another and he’s partied his way off of an international music tour that was supposed to be his big break. Returning home for rehab sounds like the worst possible way to start a new year, but when an unexpected friendship emerges, he begins to realize that maybe everything does happen for a reason.

Euphoria is the third and final installment of Scarlett, Ash, and Mason’s self-discovering journeys to happiness and understanding the meaning of true love ~ the kind that begs for complete surrender

Recommended for readers 17+ due to sexual content and harsh language.

Darra's Review:

Each time I read Erin's book there is always a surprise! She did it again. Read thru the entire book and was completely enthralled with each character. This begins right after the last page of Metamorphosis.
Ash loves Scarlett with everything he has. And for that, I started to like him even more in this book. Such a loving and patient guy. And he got the girl. Shortly after that statement I jut wrote is where my mouth dropped. I can't give this away. But when I think about it still, I can't believe what happened. Never expected!
And about Mason. Still love him. The last book is where he hit rock bottom. Now he is finally getting his head in the right place. And you get a glimpse of the real Mason. He is selfless and is trying to help people. You get more of his friends in this book. And that is where the next book is coming from. I really can't say more. If you liked him before, he gets even better!
I loved the book! I have liked all Erin's books and plan to follow each book she writes. Each book gets better. Just when I thought that is impossible.

I rate this book a 4.6. Sigh...

Sunny's Review:

First off I have to say that if you have not gotten into this series yet you need to do so NOW!! This is a really good series and Erin Noelle is a really great author. So if you remember Ambrosia ended with a little bit of a cliff hanger and I have been waiting to find out what happens with Mason, Ash and Scarlett. They all have a lot of difficult decisions to make and they all make some mistakes along the way.  I really thought I knew what was going to happen in this book and was really annoyed because it wasn't what I wanted. Then as usual for Erin she threw me a curveball and Darra got a text that was all in CAPS because I was stunned. I love and hate that :)  I can honestly say that I actually liked Ash a little bit more in this book and I still love Mason. Scarlett wasn't quite as annoying to me as she was in the previous book so that was good. I feel like she grew up a little bit more in this book.

I am not joking when I say go read this series!! I am giving Euphoria 4.5 stars out of 5.

Excerpt

Embracing her one last time, I whispered in her ear, “I love you, butterfly… ‘your curves

and all your edges, and all your perfect imperfections.’ I’ll see you tomorrow night.”

“I love you, too, Ash. ‘You’re my end and my beginning; even when I lose, I’m winning,’”

she whispered back. Then she grabbed her bag and headed for the security check point. Right

before turning the corner where I couldn’t see her anymore, she looked back at me and blew me

a kiss and made hand hearts. Damn, she was beautiful. I stood there for several minutes with a

goofy ass grin on my face. I wasn’t expecting her to sing the next lyrics of the song to me, but it

filled me with an indescribable feeling of warmth and love. ~Ash

Sunny's Review:

I was not really sure about this book at first. The connection between  Brooke and Dylan was really, really fast for me. I guess that can happen but I felt like it was a little too fast. Other than that I liked this book. You have quite a bit of mystery and trying to figure out who Brooke's ex really was, who is after Brooke and what is really going on with Dylan.  I like Brooke. She has had so many obstacles in her life but she just keeps going. She is not afraid to work and tries to stand on her own in a lot of ways.  Dylan is your typical alpha male that wants to take care of everything and will protect what is his (yes, I kind of love him).
This is a very good introduction book for the series. It sets everything up for the second book and I really like this series. I am giving this book 4 stars out of 5.

Title: Promiscuous
Book 2 in the Fixer Series
Author: Alyson Raynes
Genre: Suspenseful Romance/Erotica
Synopsis

Dylan had received a peculiar phone call from the governor, leaving me stranded and alone in his magnificent penthouse.  The events of the evening draining me free of any energy I had left.  I wanted to ask where he was going, but I had a gut feeling I knew the answer to that question.  It was his job to clean up a scene before anyone found out the gruesome details of a crime.  Then again, I found myself curious, wondering if Dylan himself had manufactured the hit on Amber Martinelli to frame Stefan.

I stepped out onto the terrace overlooking the city.  The lights were bright, twinkling as the roar of late night traffic lingered in the air.  A cold front was moving in and a slight chill moved through me.  Knowing how Dylan felt about me, I knew he would do anything to keep me safe.  Committing murder wasn't beneath him and it was dangerous for me to think that he could be involved in Amber’s.

Sunny's Review:

This is the next book in the Fixer Series and I liked it so much more than the first book. Maybe because I already knew the characters and there was not a lot background to get through. You get to see more of Brooke and Dylan. There is a lot more mystery and even knowing what Dylan does there is even more to it. Even as I was trying to figure out "who did it" in this book I never really figured it all out.
I am giving this book 4.3 stars out of 5. I was texting Darra while reading it going "WHAT??!! This book is crazy!!"  I recommend you read this series.

Excerpts for Deception

We were interrupted by a knock at the door. I was both relieved and irritated at the same time. I suppose it was a blessing that someone had interrupted us because I wasn't sure how much longer either of us was going to last without some kind of physical contact. I needed to find some distance between us because I was beginning to lose all of my self control when it concerned Dylan Prescott. - (Deception)

Excerpts for Promiscuous

Excerpt
"Well...bitch! I may be trash but I'm nothing like you. For starters, when someone says it's over, it means it's over. It doesn't mean you continue to call them, stop by their house or continue to try and seduce them. You see Misty, Dylan is a lot nicer than I am, so I'll put it in a language that you can easily understand. You're a whore Misty. You'll stick your mouth on any cock that's put before you, just so you can climb your way to the top of the corporate ladder. That's right, I've heard all of the office talk about you and seeing how you parade around like a piranha with Dylan, I know it's true. Now get the fuck out of my room so I can finish fucking my fiance!" (Promiscuous)

*This is an Adult Contemporary Romance Novel. Recommended for readers 18+ *

Darra's Review:

This is a book that will definitely blush. A hot boss that is rich and smart, that is the trifecta. Despite I usually don't like the playboy's that I read in my books, I like Kyler from the beginning. He is mello and composed.
Cassey is very likeable and is not annoying. Usually I want to yell at the main character. But she has it together and stands on her own two feet. Except when she see Kyler.
So as you can imagine, they get involved despite how much she tries to stay away. A lot happens, up's and downs. Jerks, there are plenty in her life. But he tries his best to be what she needs.

It is an easy read and got thru it in a day. If you need a book that makes you turn your book up so no one can read it behind you(my husband), this is it.

I rate this book a 4.0.

The car quickly heated up and one of his hands wrapped into my hair. He took control of the next kiss. He tasted every part of my mouth and I think I understood exactly what fucking him could be like.

He let me come up for air and I opened my heavy eyelids. “I don’t want you to hurt me Reed and I’ll hate you if you hurt my brother and sister.”

“I won’t give you a reason to hate me.”

I still didn’t get what he wanted from me and the decision was overwhelming. Should I take a chance or not?

“Say yes.” He kissed my throat running his tongue across my skin taking little nibbling bites that drove me wild. He didn’t play fair.

“Yes,” I whispered and he rewarded me with his mouth again.

I rubbed against him, need building between my thighs so powerful that my clothes hurt my skin. My wet panties burned against my clit. His knee rose up between my legs causing more friction as I rocked against it.

“Let go Jaycee.”

Oh god he knew.

“Let go.” He whispered.

I did. My toes curled and my legs shook. My pussy quivered against him wanting more but taking what he gave. My head went back as he lowered his knee and jerked the center of me closer to the center of him. I cried out, the sound amplified in his car. But before my orgasm was over, embarrassment crashed in. I tried pulling away but he wouldn’t let me.

“That was beautiful baby.”

I buried my head in his shoulder. “I can’t believe I did that.”

“I want you doing it again and again.”

“I’ve seen the size of you, it’ll kill me.”

I felt his chest shaking with laughter. “It won’t kill you baby.”

I moved my hand over the long hard ridge beneath his jeans. His indrawn breath made me smile, my embarrassment forgotten. I arched my body away so I could feel his entire length.

He breathed into my ear his voice rough. “It’s a little messier for me to do what you just did and I need to make it home.”

I pressed down a little harder. “What will you do when you get home?”

“Take a long shower.”

“A cold one?” I’d always heard that worked for men.

“No baby, it’ll be hot, with my hand where yours is.”

Oh god, he just talked about masturbating and I was so out of my league. He took both my hands threading his fingers through mine and tipping me back.

“I want you moving in this weekend.”

I’d said yes when he had me at a disadvantage. Reed Tyler didn’t play fair.

Sunny's Review:

This was a good book. I was a little bit unsure of it at first just based on the cover. I thought "Oh no...this is going to be total cheese". I was wrong. You have Shania who has been in love with David since she was little. They grew up together and he refused to look at her as anything other than a sister. Once she turned 21 she would not let him continue to see her that way. David was taken in by her family and did not want to risk the only family he really knew.

I liked that Shania was strong willed and did not just roll over for David. He really screwed up and she did not take it. She took her life into her own hands and made something of herself totally unrelated to him. David really screwed up with Shania and I was a little bit annoyed that he did not fight to get her back right away. I really liked Stephan. He took care of her and made sure that she was safe and felt loved no matter what.

There was some mystery in this book and I enjoyed that. Someone was sending Shania threatening messages and then it escalated. There is a lot of D/s play in this book. If you do not like that you will not like this book.

I am giving this book 3.9 stars out of 5. I think most people will enjoy it. Go get it!!!

Excerpt
He slid his wet lips to the inside of her knees, kissing and sucking. She arched her back, feeling hot and flustered. She wanted... She wanted...
“Oh David,” she moaned. “Please, please.”
“What do you want Shania?” he asked. His lips moved higher, kissing her right butt cheek, then her left. Then she felt a sharp pain. She tensed, bowing off the bed, tension filling her muscles. He bit her ass and bit her again, right where he had kissed. He gently licked the spots, soothing the pain. “Remember what I told you, Shania?” he asked. “A little pain and a lot of pleasure—hand in hand they go.”
Shania was beyond thinking or remembering. She could only feel. When she felt his tongue on her pussy, she stiffened. He licked from back to front.
“You should taste how sweet you are Shania,” he murmured as he gently sucked her clit into his mouth. Slowly he worked her peak with his tongue, increasing the suction as he slid a finger into her opening.
“Oh my God, David…Oh! Oh! I don’t know …David I want…”
“Let go Shania,” David said softly as he inserted a second finger into her hot little sheath. He began to scissor his fingers then curled and touched a spot she did not even know existed. Shania exploded!” Lights flashed and stars appeared. She shattered into a million pieces and fell forward on the bed oblivious to anything around her.

Character Bios
Shania was a Kentucky girl, raised in horse country, with racing in her blood and spirit in her soul. She set her sights on David at an early age, and had never wavered. He was her destiny... at least she thought so.
David was a blend. Born in Texas, his roots were there no matter where he went. It was his solace, his place of restoration and peace. Kentucky was his second home though. He had spent more years in Versailles, KY than anywhere else in the world. He launched his business in Louisville, KY, and it was where he returned home to the people who loved him. He had always known the Ridgeways loved him, but passion was a whole different kind of emotion for him. He didn't know how to love like that. He had truly never belonged to anyone. He wasn't sure if he was capable of loving her. Stephan was a Greek. He spent his whole life in that small, yet powerful part of the world. He wanted Shania from the time he first saw her, but his job was to protect her and guide her. How could he make the transition from employee to lover? Antonio was a loyal company executive... or so Jack thought. He was Greek, but had spent most of his live traveling the world at the helm of the ship building division of Ridgeway, Inc. He owed the Ridgeway family a lot, and he always paid his debts. Jack was a Kentucky boy, Shania's brother, and David's best friend. He had been raised side by side with David, who, although never formally adopted by the Ridgeways, had been like a brother to him. He headed up the family empire now that his father had retired. He and his wife, Josslyn, lived in Louisville.
