Heaven Sent by Hilary Storm!!!

 Synopsis:

Heaven Sent Synopsis
The Rebel Walking Series continues with Taron and Ivy's story, Heaven Sent. The explosive chemistry that these two share ignites a relationship of epic proportions.

He has been dubbed 'the panty stealer', but Taron Walker has his eyes set on the beautiful, full of life, Ivy Adams. Ivy doesn't usually put up with the player type, yet there is something about Taron that has her intrigued. Taron must leave to go on tour with Rebel Walking and Ivy will be left to face serious struggles on her own. Will she reach out to Taron for help, or will she push him away? Can these two find happiness in each other's arms, or will they tear each other's world apart?

Darra's Review:

Well I think I have never had a book cover sum up what I write as my review. Taron will make you blush. If you have not read In a Heartbeat, you need to. That book(which so happens to be on our front page reviewed) is about Taron's twin, Talon and Eaven. This is Taron, the crazy sibling and Eaven's best friend, Ivy.
I was excited to read this book. I did love Taron and Ivy. They have the best comebacks and the best toasts. From book #1, the tension builds between the two of them. Finally in this book they give in and go all out. The sex scene...wow. That could be a story of its own. However there is a actual plot.
Dylan who was in the first book continues to harass Ivy and it gets out of control.
The band is going on tour, Ivy is being stalked, and all Taron wants to do is be with her. With all that goes on, Ivy is stuck on what is her next move.
I liked the book from beginning to end. I loved Talon but Taron is the polar opposite of his brother. However I love him just as much. Ivy is kickass and just the kind of girl you would like to go out and drink with.
I rate this book a 4.1. An excellent choice. :-)

Interview with Hilary Storm:

 What made you start writing?
My daughter did. She is a very unique person. She loves to express herself through art and
writing. She was playing around with a story and showed it to some friends. One of them said that it was terrible and that she could never be an author. My twelve year old little girl is very sensitive. I told her not to let ANYONE tell her she can't do something. Then I asked her who would be the last person on Earth that she would expect to write a novel. She said, me, of course. I was so career focused that anyone who knew me personally, thought I had lost my mind when I told them I was writing. I didn't have time for that and it confused everyone. Sooooooo I sat down and started writing, just to prove to my little girl that you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. You know Woman power and all that!!
Had you always planned to write a New Adult novel?
No, but I’m very glad I did!

How did you come up with the characters?
The characters are based a little off of people I know and a lot of evolving development
             in my head.
What made you think of this story of Eaven and Ivy as best friends?
That part is based on real life.  I have a best friend of 26 years and their relationship mirrors ours in our younger years.
Did you plan to split the two brothers up into separate books?
Yes.  They are two completely different guys!
Taron is one of a kind! He has the best toasts when they party. How did you come up with that?
His ass is based off of one of my friends.  The muse for Taron is always the life of the party.  Crazy and hilarious!
Ivy had a crazy personality too. Did you always plan for those two to come together?
Actually no, I thought they would need their own books because of how large their personalities were.  But in book 1 they kept sparking every time I wrote a scene with them in it.

If you made another book based off another character in the book, who would I it
be?  Please be  Holden!
Book 3 is Luke, Book 4 is Holden.  I’ve had requests for Aiden, so we will see! I will be writing a novella in Talon and Eaven’s POV before book 3 is released in Feb 2014/
Are you planning to include any more hot musicians? Hint, hint. Nudge, nudge.
YES, of course!  Rebel Walking Series is hot!  I have people begging for more!
Do you plan to keep with the Adult books or interested in looking at other genres?
It will be adult books for me.  I cuss like a sailor and like to write steamy scenes.  There is no way I could real that in!
Thank You for talking with us today! I loved both books equally. You definitely made us readers love the craziness of Taron and Ivy.

Sunny's Review:

I really like this book. Quinn makes you want to be a stronger person. She has had an awful life but is still trying to make the best of what she can. Travis is just as sweet as Jarrod & every time Quinn pushes him away it breaks your heart. There are some really funny parts to this story as well as some mystery & suspense. I am looking forward to seeing what else is going to happen with this group of friends.

Again, I read this story with an Australian accent which just made it that much better. This book is 4 out of 5 stars. I recommend you go read ASAP!

Sunny's Review:

As most of you know I am not into the band books. That is totally Darra's thing. I just wanted to get that out of the way. Now...this book is really freaking good. I love it. Jared and Evie are so sweet. Kinda annoying and stupid in that they are totally made for each other and they should realize it but you forgive them b/c they are just AWESOME! After they meet they become friends through texts and get to know each other. When they do move to the same town it is fun to watch them flip out and figure it all out.  I liked that there was a little bit of mystery and action. I also like that Evie doesn't come off as a diva.

You really need to read this book and at $0.99 it is a steal. I am giving it 4 out of 5 stars. Love it! You have to read Give Me Strength after this (check out the blog tomorrow for my thoughts on that book!)

PS I am a dork and read the whole thing in an Australian accent

Ten Things That Inspire Alicia Rae

1.       My family – I’m very blessed to have a husband and family who truly support me unconditionally. That is the greatest inspiration any writer could ever ask for.

2.       My three boys - They continue to amaze me every day with their free spirited imaginations and pure hearts.

3.       My readers – There is nothing sweeter than hearing that someone loved my story. It literally makes me want to stop what I’m doing and go back to my writing cave.

4.       Love – Every girl dreams of their perfect happily ever after and falling in love. I love to give them to my characters, and I hope to share them with others.

5.       Reading – There is nothing better than losing yourself in a story.  I fight the battle very often myself. Do I read or write? I’m very passionate about them both.

6.       Authors – I have so many favorite books. I could never choose just ten. So many authors have made me laugh out loud, (as my husband looks at me as if I’ve lost my mind…) cry, and melt into a puddle – only to leave me with a major book hangover. After reading an unthinkable number of books in 2012, I give many thanks to all the authors who inspired me to write a love story of my own.

7.       Emotions – We all have them; try to control or tame them, or let them flow. I have taken a leap of faith in the writing world and poured them into The Beautiful Series. It was a chance on myself with Beautiful Chances.

8.       People – I am an observer at heart. I love to watch people interact, smile, and laugh while embracing the moment. Life is too short not to take a chance on your dreams.

9.       Music – I have always loved music. But since I started writing, it has change, intensified. Now I find certain songs unleashing scenes in my head, and I’m running for a napkin or the nearest object to write it down on.
      10. Day to day living – You never know what is going to happen the next day or even the next moment in
your life. I’ve learned to be thankful for each moment, every person and experience that I have.

The Other C-Word Blog Tour!!!

The Other C-Word
MK Schiller
Total E-Bound Publishing
Contemporary Romance
 23rd August 2013

Synopsis:

Can she overcome her consuming desire for him? Can he make her comfortable with the other C-word…commitment?

Marley Mason is dreading the arrival of the new business consultant. After all, this man will most likely outsource her job to China. The last thing she would expect is a case of mistaken identity, leading to false accusations of kidnapping when she attempts to pick up the wrong man at the airport, or worse…that she would have such a visceral reaction to the right man.

Rick Randy is super sexy, scandalously flirty, and perfect masturbation material, but a relationship is out of the question. Rick is contracted on a temporary basis to fix Marley’s ailing company, and then pull out, although as he expresses to Marley, pulling out is difficult for him, in more ways than one! Marley’s feelings range from utter confusion to intense contemplation as Rick charms his way into her life. All of those C-words Marley can control, but it’s the other C-word she fears—commitment.

Buy The BOOK!!

Darra's Review:

This book had the funniest first chapter. Seriously, Randy eh?! Note to self, do not hold up signs in front of old men. (Laughing right now) I have to say that Marley can run over any man. All she wants is to keep everything simple and temporary. Long term is not what she does. However Rick, oh Rick. He comes walking in her life and she tries her best to stay away from him.

What can I say, you just can't stay away from a hot guy in a nice suit. He is a little bit of a ego and smartass. But you love him. He makes you smile. Which makes it awkward me smiling at my nook and my Husband looking at me as if I am crazy. Regardless, he becomes the guy that tears down her wall. And the guy that Marly thinks about when she goes home.

All I thought was lock the door to that office! Come on! Lets just say, Rick preforms very well as one of the main characters in an Adult book. Over and over. :-)

Would I recommend this book? That is a yes. Sometimes I did want to slap Marly into next Tuesday. But I think it was my inner bad girl talking. And all of you ladies will agree. He is delectable.

I would give this book a 4.5. Sometimes you just have to read a book that makes you blush. And this book will do just that.

EXCERPT:

“I want to kiss you again. I don’t want to wait on that.” He barely had the car in park before he placed his hands on either side of my face and drew me close to him. His lips felt like velvety pillows. The kiss was softer, slower, but no less passionate than our first kiss. He coaxed his way into my mouth. He explored with a profound depth while he caressed my face and neck with his fingertips. He worked his way down my jawline to my neck, punctuating each progression with soft, wet kisses. He pulled away, but continued stroking my hair with his fingers, staring at me intently. The sounds of our rapid breathing permeated the air. “Don’t masturbate.” The words were the most shocking I’d ever heard.
My hand shot up and struck his face in a hasty reaction to the command. I slapped Rick. I didn’t slap him for the kiss. I loved the kiss. I smacked him for telling me not to masturbate. Surely, he wasn’t taking away my only form of relief.
He rubbed his check and I immediately felt guilty. “I can’t believe you slapped me. Are you into some S&M shit I need to know about?”
“No…sorry, but are you fucking crazy? First you tell me we have to wait until the results, then you kiss me like that and now you’re saying don’t masturbate?”
He grinned impishly and pulled me towards him again. “I won’t either. When I finally fuck you, it’ll be worth it. It will make everything so much more…epic. Do you know what I mean?”
“No,” I replied, pouting.

About MK Schiller:

This is my debut novel, and I’m thrilled to share it with you.  I describe myself as a hopeless romantic in a hopelessly pragmatic world. By day, I don a magic cape, calculator (sometimes an abacus), and an assortment of gel pens for my work in the world of finance. But by night, I sit by the warm glow of my computer monitor, and think of stories that will warm the heart, and cheer the soul.
There is nothing better than the intimate journey and ultimate satisfaction that only a swoon-worthy romance can provide, especially if there are a few laughs along the way.  Although writing is my passion, I am a reader first and enjoy nothing more than curling up with a good book and some tasty Italian (the food, of course!). I hope you will enjoy my work and please drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you.

Pearl by Arianne Richmonde!!!!

Synopsis:

The book that Pearl Series fans have been asking for: the flip side of the tale. The story according to Alexandre Chevalier.

At only twenty-five, Alexandre Chevalier is a billionaire. His social media site, HookedUp, is more popular than Twitter, more global than Facebook. With his drop-dead gorgeous looks, alluring charm and wealth, he has women falling at his feet, desperate for his attention.
But his heart is set on only one woman: Pearl Robinson.
Alexandre’s dark and dysfunctional past makes him crave stability and a normal relationship, but he soon finds out that Pearl is a bird with a broken wing. Why, he isn’t sure.

About the Trilogy:

Pearl, follows Arianne Richmonde’s bestselling books in The Pearl Trilogy: Shades of Pearl, Shadows of Pearl and Shimmers of Pearl; the tumultuous and heart-rending love story between forty-year-old documentary producer, Pearl Robinson, and French Internet billionaire, Alexandre Chevalier, fifteen years her junior.

Pearl is written from Alexandre’s point of view from the moment they first meet on a rainy summer’s day in a coffee shop in New York City.

In any relationship details are hidden; things are left unsaid.
Not all conversations are remembered in the same way.
And not all actions are disclosed—especially to the one you love most.

This book (Part 1 of 2) is approximately 53,000 words long, just over 200 printed pages.   Part 2 is scheduled for release in October.

Because of Alexandre Chevalier’s prowess in the bedroom, this novel contains erotic content and strong language.
Intended for readers aged 18 and over.

Sunny's Review:

If you are going to read Pearl I feel like you need to read the trilogy first from Pearl's POV. This book is from Alexandre's POV and there are a lot of the same scenes but there are so many more. I LOVE Alexandre. At first, I was not really taken with him. I can't lie. I was uncertain after starting the trilogy. I was literally like OMG what did I get myself into...But I was pleasantly surprised with this book.

In Pearl's POV I was thinking that Alexandre was not my idea of a good BBF. He is French (yes, I know, I am like the ONLY girl that isn't all starry eyed over the French guys), he is a lot younger than her and he comes off as very I don't know...I just didn't really like him. So when I read his POV and got to see what he was actually thinking...OH WOW!!! He is AWESOME. He is so freaking sweet and yes in the first book I thought he was using his dog at first as line. When you get to see how he thinks about his beloved pet you realize he is really the nicest guy. LOVE HIM!!!

I am going to give this book 4 stars. Like I said I was a little uncertain at first but AMAZED when I got to the end. Oh and one last thing, OH MY HOLY CLIFFHANGER!!!! Can I please have the next book NOW???!!???!??

Guess who stopped by for a quick interview???? DAISY!!!! (so freaking excited)

Yay! I am so excited that Daisy had time to stop in for a quick interview. I love her and she is really a great friend to Pearl.  So here you go:

Sunny:  Hi! Thank you so much for stopping by and giving us the low down on Pearl and Alexandre.

So did you really move to Hawaii?

Daisy:  Not yet but I am seriously considering it. I'd like to raise Amy in a safe environment away from pollution and the chaos of a city. Hawaii would be an amazing place to live I think, especially for a child. There's a lot to do and it would be a really healthy environment.

S:  I think it would be AMAZING! Have you been back since the first time? Are you enjoying the single life or are you settling down with any HOT surfers?

D: We went on vacation and yes, Zac and I are in touch! However, when you have a child you can't just jump into things...I need to weigh all this up very carefully. Pearl's dad and I have become very good friends, too. We'll see.

S:  So on to Pearl and Alexander…what were you really hoping would happen with Pearl when she first told you about Alexander?  Did you want her to enjoy a fling or did you suspect it would turn into real feelings?

D:  To be honest, I thought it was just going to be a fling. But she needed that. She's been so locked in with work and in her little shell. I thought she should go out and have some fun. Little did I know, her whole life would be turned upside down by a Frenchman!

S:  Have you ever seen Pearl react to anyone the way that she did to Alexander?

D:  Never. She was always very detached and cool with men. She lost the plot with Alexandre. With her ex husband it always seemed as if they were just buddies, really. With Alexandre you could see that she was besotted with him.

S:  When they “broke-up” what were you thinking? Did you think that they were done and she was never going to find happiness?

D:  I do know quite a bit about how men's minds work with my training as a psychotherapist. I thought if she stayed cool and didn't show him what a basket-case she was inside, she had a chance of winning him back. If you're all over a guy, they run! I think my advice paid off!

S: (small spoiler--don't read if you don't want to know a small detail that I love from Alexandre's POV)  What were you thinking when Alexandre called you about Pearl?

D:  At first I thought something had happened to her. But then I realized that he was going crazy that she had left him the way she did. I felt proud of Pearl for being so strong. Women need to be that way or men walk all over them. I certainly gave him a run for his money in that phone call! Got him really worried. That was the idea!

S:  Are you and Pearl still close? How much has changed since she got married, started having babies and her business seems to be taking off?

D:  She's become like a sort of superwoman! I don't know how she does it! Well, having people help run her house and business does help but she is going from strength to strength. We are still very close. We chat on the phone at least a few times a week and meet up. Another reason I hesitate about moving to Hawaii...I'd miss my Pearl!

S:  Do you think we are going to see anything else from Pearl and Alexander? Or from you? Are you going to tell the world what you are really up to now and how you got there?

D:  I think we all have a story inside us so I hope so. I feel ready to embark on an adventure. I feel as if my life is just beginning in a way. There is so much I want to explore and now that Amy's older I think it's time.

S:  Thank you so much for your time. I know you are busy but I really appreciate it.

D:  Thank you Sunny. Anytime!

So what did you think?  I love getting the insight on other people from someone on the inside.

Spring Training

For baseball superstar Garrett Donovan, his contract with the New York Empire baseball team meant he’d finally have the means to secure a future for his family. He should focus on that…not on the sassy, beautiful Jessa Montgomery — or what she looks like naked. Getting involved with the daughter of the Empire’s owner would be career suicide. Jessa is a distraction he can’t afford.
Her father had warned her never to get involved with his athletes, so his request that she keep an eye on his new star player came straight out of left field. The last thing Jessa needs is another spoiled, egotistical ball player to deal with. But Garrett is none of those things. His no-nonsense attitude and smooth Southern charm make her blood burn and her knees weak. Giving into temptation, she is consumed by the pleasure she finds in Garrett’s arms.
Jessa wants to protect his career. Garrett won’t let anything get in the way of their passion.
A passion that could cost him everything.

Sunny's Review:

I really liked this book. You all know that I love baseball and baseball players. I mean who doesn't right? Anyways, I love that Jessa goes with the total stereotype with Garrett. She assumes he is just the regular playboy that thinks he is so much better than everyone else.  Garrett is great in that he isn't really like that. He is actually very humble and realizes that he is lucky to be able to play the game he loves. He is also 100% committed to his family and supporting them. Jessa is awesome. She works hard and has earned the respect of the players. She could just be a spoiled brat that thinks she runs everything since her dad owns the team. She doesn't. She works hard and seems to actually like the players.

There are so many hot scenes in this book. They are evened out with the super sweet parts too. I think that if you are looking for quick, hot and sweet read this is your book. I am giving this book 4 out of 5 stars. I would reread.
